Faith, Family and Friends: 1000 gifts

There is a trend in some blogs I have read recently to create a 'list' of 1000 gifts. I want to do this. I hope no one thinks I am 'copying off of them'. No, in fact, I want to imitate this wonderful concept. Of course, each list is different, because it is their own individual list of gifts. That being said...........I bet there are a lot of over-lapping gifts that we all share as human beings. So here goes. It won't be a daily thing, just dropped in when I am so moved to do so. Thanks for sharing the journey. Not every entry will have a photo, or a comment. If you haven't done it, consider making your own list. Everything on it doesn't have to be earth-shaking. You might list 'candy canes' next to 'the theory of relativity'. Ha, you know what I mean. Try it! If you don't blog, get out a notebook. You might be surprised what you come up with.

1. Life. Without it, I would be nothing (literally).

2. Faith. Again, without it I would be nothing. My present life would be meaningless; hopes for my eternal life, dead.
3. America.Her soil, her ideals. She is my Mother-land.

I realized yesterday that today's date is 10.11.12. I just found that kind of a fun thing. Of course, I'm easily entertained, remember? Have a great 10.11.12 day! And today kicks off the Holy Father's 'Year of Faith'.

Also today's feast is the Motherhood of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
(from the Collect) O God, who didst please that Thy Word should take flesh at the message of an Angel in the womb of the blessed Virgin Mary, grant to us Thy suppliants, that we, who believe her to be truly the Mother of God, may be helped by her intercession with Thee!

A meditation: Two things especially conduce to great improvement; namely forcibly to withdrawl one's self from what nature is viciously inclined to, and fervently to follow up the good that one is most in need of.
